Tuition Raffle Rules
St. Dominic High School is selling $100 tickets for a chance to win free tuition for the 2024-25 school year at
St. Dominic. Tickets are available for purchase between April 8, 2024, and April 21, 2024, at 11:59 pm.
The raffle winners will be drawn on Monday, April 22, 2024. St. Dominic High School will contact the winner by April 26, 2024.
The raffle winner must:
- Apply the prize to a student enrolled at St. Dominic High School for the 2024-25 school year or a graduating senior who paid tuition for the 2023-24 school year,
- Donate the prize to the St. Dominic High School’s tuition assistance program, or
- Transfer the prize to another St. Dominic High School family.
St. Dominic High School faculty, staff, administrators, volunteers, supporters, parents and grandparents may, at their discretion, participate in this raffle. There are no limitations or exclusions as to who is eligible to purchase tickets except as outlined below.
Tickets will be sold on a first come, first served basis.
The free tuition prize is not redeemable for cash and must be applied to the 2024-25 school year. If the winning family’s only student is a graduating senior, it can be used as a rebate for 2023-24 tuition.
The value of the winning prize is $11,900. All prizes are subject to state and federal income taxes.
The Fine Print
- All information gathered as a result of this raffle will not be provided to any third party, except as required by law.
- The raffle is open only to legal residents of the United States and winner(s) must be 18 years or older at the time of entry.
- All prizes are subject to, and the winners are fully responsible for federal, state and local income taxes. St. Dominic High School has NO responsibility for the payment of any taxes associated with the prize (except for the responsibility to comply with the withholding regulations and requirements of the taxing authorities involved).
- The prizes will be awarded on the dates above. Prizes are transferable.
- Winner(s) need not be present to win. The winner(s) will be contacted via phone call on Monday, April 22nd.
- St. Dominic High School shall in NO event be liable for special or consequential damages arising from the use or ownership of any prizes. Participants hereby release St. Dominic High School from all claims.
- All sales of raffle tickets are final. There will be NO refunds.
- Winners have 15 calendar days from drawing to claim their prize. In the event a winner is non-compliant with requirement, or if prize notification is returned as undeliverable, prize will be forfeited and an alternate winner selected.
- To claim a prize, the winner may be asked to provide a ticket stub or printed verification (from online purchase) and/or a valid driver's license or state issued picture ID that matches name on selected ticket stub or printed verification.
- The odds of winning depend upon the number of tickets sold.
- The IRS states that the amount paid for chances in raffles, lotteries or similar drawings for valuable prizes are not gifts, and consequently do not qualify as deductible charitable contributions.
- IRS Form 1099 will be issued to winners and must be claimed on the winner's income tax statement.
- The winner will allow St. Dominic High School the right to use their name and/or likeness for promotional purposes without further compensation. The winner may be required to complete a statement of eligibility, release of liability and publicity release. Failure to do so will render winner ineligible to receive prize.
- Void where prohibited by law.
