Parking & Athletic Facility Initiative
Call to Action
Parking & Athletic Facility Initiative
Blessed with tremendous growth in our school enrollment and in participation in co-curricular activities such as athletics, St. Dominic High School must grow and adapt to meet the needs of our students and our families.
The 2023 five-year Strategic Plan calls for updates and additions to meet these needs through a major gift effort aimed at stadium and parking enhancements.
Growth and prosperity have been incredible for our St. Dominic community, but with this comes the challenge to adapt to the meet the needs of our community. The Parking and Athletic Facility Initiative will allow St. Dominic High School to meet the safety needs of our students with daily parking, athletic event parking, increased restroom facilities for Crusader Stadium, and much needed upgrades to our baseball/softball stadium allowing these athletes and fans to engage in a great atmosphere.
All of these improvements will be completed between May of 2024 and March of 2025. This major gift initiative calls upon members of our community to make our campus safer, more accessible, and enhance the every day experience for our students and student- athletes.
Your support today will result in immediate progress.

With a current student enrollment of 1,100 students, St. Dominic has more student drivers than ever before in our history. Currently every on-campus parking spot is filled by students and faculty by the middle of the fall semester. Through strong relationships with our neighbors, we are able to park student vehicles off campus at several business lots on Elaine Drive. To safely reach school, students parked on these off-campus lots must either cross Elaine Drive or walk from beyond our athletic complex and the railroad tracks to reach school. These same students must do the inverse as they leave school, many of whom are leaving school later in the evening because they are participating in athletics or theater. The goal of this Parking and Athletic Facility Initiative is to move 100% of our student drivers on campus by the start of the 24-25 school year.
This Initiative calls for the complete renovation and expansion of the current stadium parking lot and current softball field into a brand new parking lot. This improvement will take the existing 56 parking spaces up to 201 parking spots. In doing so, we are able to convert the current stadium entrance/exit into an “enter only” drive lane and add an “exit only” drive lane near the north end of the parking lot.
Driver safety will be greatly enhanced by creating a much safer flow of traffic for our student drivers, along with guests attending athletic events at Crusader Stadium and the new Baseball-Softball Stadium.
Phase II
Phase II | Baseball-Softball Stadium Improvements
Fall/Winter 2024-25
- At the conclusion of softball season in October, construction will immediately begin to convert the existing natural surface baseball-softball field into a fully turfed playing surface.
- Complete overhaul of the Baseball-Softball Stadium begins.
- This renovation transforms our existing field into a state-of-the-art Baseball-Softball Stadium, home to the Coach Oschner Field.
- Stadium Renovations will come complete with:
- New Dugouts and Backstop Netting
- Press Box, Digital Scoreboard & Sound System
- Bullpens and Batting Cages
- Stadium Seating for spectators
Phase II renovations will be completed and ready for play by the start of baseball season in March of 2025.
To successfully meet the current interest in our baseball and softball programs, we must take the bold initiative to make significant upgrades to our current facilities. With 6 teams between our two programs, it has become imperative to make our baseball-softball stadium a lighted facility. Further, to ensure our baseball and softball athletes have the ability to practice and play games on a regular basis, we will convert the existing natural surface to an all-weather turf field. Converting two fields into one baseball-softball stadium requires our facilities to be state-of-the-art and meet the needs of our student athletes.
Built on the same current footprint, this stadium renovation will ensure for the best possible Crusader player and fan experience.
