Shadow Program Frequently Asked Questions

Who can shadow?

Students are encouraged to visit in the spring of their seventh grade year or fall of their eighth grade school year. Transfer students may shadow as their schedule permits.

When is shadowing allowed?

Shadowing is allowed on most normal school days. Preferred times of the year are September-November and February-April.

How do I schedule a visit?

Please fill out our shadow visit form or contact Director of Admissions Bobbie Peters at (636) 240-8303 ext. 108 or bpeters@stdominichs.org. Visits must be confirmed with the parent at least one week prior to the visit. Due to scheduling constraints, some dates are unavailable.

Whom will I shadow?

Seventh and eighth grade students shadow sophomores at St. Dominic. Our trained student ambassadors act as hosts for the day. All hosts must be approved prior to the visit.

What should I wear?

Dress in your current school uniform or school-appropriate clothing. (Solid khaki pants and a solid color collared shirt are recommended.)

What time do I arrive on campus? What will I do all day?

  • Please check in between 7:30-7:45 am
  • Visit at least three classes
  • Take a tour of our 44-acre campus
  • Learn more about student organizations and other opportunities that interest you

What about lunch?

Lunch is on us! Enjoy a complimentary meal with your shadow host and his or her friends.

How long does the day last?

Because of our block schedule, shadow visitors should plan to spend the entire day with us to get an accurate feel for the learning environment. We encourage parents to pick up students around 2:30 pm to avoid dismissal traffic. Students may stay until 2:50 if necessary. Please indicate your preferred time when scheduling.

Can my parents visit St. Dominic?

Yes! We are happy to provide personal tours to parents interested in St. Dominic. Request a tour when you schedule a shadow visit and we will schedule a tour at a time that is convenient for you.
