Graser served as St. Dominic athletic director from 2002 to 2012. Prior to arriving at St. Dominic, he was a longtime coach in the Wentzville community.

“While we had Denny Graser for 10 years as our athletic director, he was a teacher, coach, mentor and friend to many,” said St. Dominic principal Cathy Fetter. “He greatly impacted the lives of thousands.”

The Crusaders won seven state championships under Graser’s leadership: boys soccer (2004, 2008, 2009), girls soccer (2007, 2012), baseball (2008) and girls basketball (2011).

Graser’s tenure saw substantial enhancements to St. Dominic’s athletic facilities, including the opening of Crusader Stadium in 2004 and the Fallon Family Center in 2010. After his retirement in 2012, St. Dominic named the new Denny Graser Tennis Courts in his honor.

“There will never be another Denny Graser,” said St. Dominic president Jim Welby, who succeeded Graser as athletic director in 2012. “I’m so blessed to have been able to call Coach a friend. He will forever be missed.”

Funeral Mass will take place at 1:30 pm on Thursday, January 3, in the Fallon Family Center, with visitation in the Sr. Mary Bender Lobby one hour prior. Visitation will also take place from 2-8 pm on Wednesday, January 2, at Pitman Funeral Home in Wentzville.
