Ways to Give

Federal tax laws are designed to encourage support of charitable institutions. While your commitment to St. Dominic High School is a personal matter, this section may help you consider the ways of giving that are most appropriate for your financial circumstances, prior commitments, and other responsibilities.

This section presents an overview of some tax considerations of charitable giving. We urge you to consult your own financial advisors about your personal situation.

Gifts of cash are most common and allow St. Dominic High School to have access to available funds.

To make an online gift using a credit card, please visit the Archdiocese of St Louis website and select the St. Dominic fund of your choice.

St. Dominic High School encourages pledges as a way of giving to the school. Pledge payments can be scheduled to accommodate the individual donor's needs.

Securities can also be donated to St. Dominic High School. To donate stock, please notify St. Dominic High School of your gift by calling the Advancement Office at (636) 240-8303, advising of the name of the stock, the number of shares, and any and all restrictions that apply to the use of the proceeds. If you have the stock certificate, it can be delivered to the Advancement Office by mail or in person. If your stock is in a brokerage account, please contact the Advancement Office for instructions on transferring the stock directly into the school's account.

Many companies will match the amount of a donation from their employees or retired employees to St. Dominic High School, increasing the value of the gift. Companies are also starting to make a matching gift donation to St. Dominic based on time their employee volunteers at our school. Your gift to the Annual Catholic Appeal may also be eligible for a company matching gift to St. Dominic. Please check with your employer regarding their matching gift program and how you can further help advance our mission.

Life insurance policies can be used for gift giving by making St. Dominic High School the owner of the policy or the beneficiary.

Gifts of real estate or tangible personal property offer a variety of options, each offering its own tax advantage to the donor. Some options provide for lifetime occupancy rights or income for life.

Please contact Director of Advancement Sarah Wehde at (636) 240-8303 ext. 109 for information on ways of supporting the school through wills, trusts and charitable gift annuities.
