Schedule a Shadow Date
Shadowing is a great way for prospective students to experience a day at St. Dominic High School and see if we fit their academic and social needs. We would love to have you on campus for a visit.
Shadow Program Frequently Asked Questions:
Who can shadow?
Students are encouraged to visit in the spring of their seventh grade year or fall of their eighth grade school year. Transfer students may shadow as their schedule permits. Make sure to keep in mind the term/year in which the transfer will occur.
When is shadowing allowed?
Shadowing is allowed on most normal school days. Preferred times of the year are September-November and February-April.
How do I schedule a visit?
Contact Director of Admissions Bobbie Peters at (636) 240-8303 ext. 108 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
Visits must be confirmed with the parent at least one week prior to the visit. Due to scheduling constraints, some dates are unavailable.
Please include the following information when scheduling:
- Student's full name
- Current school attending
- Interests and activities
- Potential date of shadow
- Parent information (including emergency contact number)
Who will I shadow?
Seventh and eighth grade students shadow sophomores at St. Dominic. Our trained student ambassadors to act as hosts for the day. All hosts must be approved prior to the visit.
What should I wear?
Dress in your current school uniform OR school-appropriate clothing.
- Solid color pants khakis or slacks recommended
- Solid color collared shirt (polo is fine)
- No blue jeans
What time do I arrive on campus? What will I do all day?
Please check in between 7:30-7:45 am.
- Visit at least three classes
- Receive a tour of our school and facilities
- Meet coaches or club moderators relating to your interest areas
What about lunch?
Lunch is on us! Enjoy a complimentary meal in our cafeteria with your shadow host and his or her friends.
How long does the day last?
Due to our block schedule, most students should plan on spending the entire day with us to get an accurate feel for the learning environment. However, shorter visits may be arranged. Note to parents: We encourage you to pick up your student around 2:30 pm to avoid dismissal traffic. Students may stay until 2:50 if necessary. Please indicate your preferred time when scheduling.
Can my parents visit St. Dominic?
Yes! We are happy to provide personal tours to parents interested in St. Dominic. Request a tour when you schedule a shadow visit and we will schedule a tour at a time that is convenient for you.
