Standardized Testing

St. Dominic High School uses the ACT family of tests to measure students' academic progress.  These tests are administered in mid-October each fall and include the following:

EXPLORE-This test is designed for use in the ninth grade and it helps teachers identify students' academic strengths and weaknesses in English, mathematics, reading and science reasoning.  EXPLORE's guidance tools help students discover interests, abilities and career paths.

PLAN-A program for tenth graders.  PLAN continues the academic assessment and career guidance that begins in the ninth grade.  PLAN evaluates students' progress in English, mathematics, reading and science reasoning.  PLAN is a reliable predictor of performance on the ACT.

P-ACT-Junior's not taking the PSAT will take the Practice ACT test.  The P-ACT is an actual ACT exam that has been retired.  This practice test resembles the actual college entrance exam that students will be taking second semester of the junior year and measures English, mathematics, reading, science reasoning and writing skills.
