Admissions Process - Incoming Freshman

Eighth Grade Students: 
St. Dominic High School operates on a rolling admission basis. Interested 8th grade students should apply using the following steps as a guide.

Eighth grade students who are interested in applying to St. Dominic High School may obtain the Archdiocesan Application to Catholic High School from their Catholic grade school or their PSR program after November 1, 2009. Applications are available to public school students by contacting the
Admissions Office via email or phone at (636) 240-8303, ext. 235.

To apply to St. Dominic High School:
On the Archdiocesan Application to Catholic High School put St. Dominic as your first choice
Once the Archdiocesan Application to Catholic High School has been received by St. Dominic.

Admission decisions are made once the student’s file is complete. Each file must include:
1. The Archdiocesan Application to Catholic High School
2. 6th grade through 8th grade transcripts and standardized test scores
3. Attendance record
4. Discipline record

In most cases, St. Dominic does not require an interview for admission.

For students with a learning diagnosis:
Any student with a diagnosis that may impact learning must submit their intake and the current IEP.
Current student accommodations are evaluated to determine if they are reasonable for St. Dominic High School.



St. Louis Archdiocese High School Admissions Timeline

The procedure for applying to any of the 28 Catholic high schools in the Archdiocese includes the following steps:

  • After Open House is held on November 1, 2009, Application forms are distributed through Catholic elementary schools and PSR's to all eighth graders who wish to apply to a Catholic high school. Students attending public schools, other private schools, or those who are home-schooled may obtain an application by calling a Catholic high school. 

  • Completed application forms are returned to the student's elementary school by the parents no later than November 11, 2009. Application forms must be accompanied by a check or money order for $10.00 made payable to the Catholic elementary school to defray the cost of processing the application. Public school students should follow the directions on the application form.
  • By November 23, 2009 the following items are sent by the elementary school principal to the Catholic high school that is listed first on the application: a copy of the student's cumulative record including all final grades, standardized test results, diagnostic test results and discipline records; a copy of the report card for first quarter of eighth grade; and, the completed application form. NOTE: Only one set of records for high school admission is prepared for each applicant.
  • A copy of the first semester report card is sent to the high school by the elementary school principal by January 19, 2010.
  • Letters of acceptance and non-acceptance are mailed to students on February 5, 2010 by the high school.
  • A copy of the second semester report card is sent to the Catholic high school the student will be attending as soon as possible after grades are ready at the end of the second semester.
