Guidance

Your school counselor is on staff as a resource to both the student and parent.  Here are some reasons why you should get to know your school counselor and take advantage of the many ways they can make your life a little easier.

Counselors can help with...

School-By helping you stay on track for graduation and identify your unique gifts and talents.

Career Planning-By helping you learn about a variety of careers and helping you prepare for your future.

College-By helping you access college admissions, scholarship and financial aid information.

Relationships-By listening and caring.

Life-By helping you get organized and navigate the transition to high school and college.

At St. Dominic High School, a student will have the same counselor for 4 years.  We feel the advantages of this include that the student and counselor will have four years to develop a relationship, it will provide the counselor an opportunity to get to know parents, and offer a continuity of services and thus be more effective.

The St. Dominic Counseling Center has three full-time counselors who are available on all regular school days from 7:50 A.M.-3:10 P.M.  Students and parents may contact their child's counselor via phone, e-mail or call the main office for general information during regular business hours.
