Dominican Scholarship To acknowledge the work of the
Dominican Sisters who have served SDHS since 1962, one scholarship will be
awarded to a needy student who has demonstrated great effort in class work at
SDHS. The PSAS Student Aid form is required. Amy Dickherber Memorial
Scholarship In memory of Amy
Dickherber, Class of 1992, this fund provides a $1000 scholarship to one or more
students each year. Glennon W. Obrecht Memorial
Scholarship In memory of
Glennon Obrecht, husband and father, the Obrecht family provides one $500
scholarship to one student each year. PSAS Student Aid form is required. Jan
Schultehenrich Memorial Scholarship In memory
of Jan Schultehenrich, former counselor at St. Dominic, her family provides one
$750 scholarship for a needy student who is involved in service to others. This
scholarship is given for ten years, starting in 2003-04. PSAS Student Aid form
is required. Archdiocesan Development Appeal
(ADA) Scholarships The ADA awards three scholarships of
$750, $500, and $250 each to three junior students who win a school essay
competition on the theme of the ADA campaign. Information for this award is
available in November. Secondary Tuition Grant for
Elementary Educators St. Dominic students who are the
children of full-time archdiocesan Catholic elementary school teachers and
Directors of Religious Education are eligible for a renewable $500 grant through
the Catholic Education Office of the Archdiocese of St. Louis. The second year
of the grant is $400 and the third year is $300. Applications are available from the
elementary school principal in late January. Applications must be received by
the Catholic Education Office by May 1st. Send applications to the address on

and the Parish Employee Endowment These two endowments have been
established by the Archdiocese to assist families with financial need and who
want to send students to Catholic schools. Applications for these grants are
available from your pastor and must be returned to the committee (address on the
application). Grant awards are determined by a
computer analysis of all requests received. No child will receive a grant larger
that the expected tuition to be paid for that child. Applications are available from
your pastor in late January/February. Deadline is April 1st for both
applications. Recipients will be notified in July. Alumni Scholarships The Assumption-St. Dominic Alumni
Association awards three, non-renewable $500 academic scholarships to incoming
freshmen during their 8th grade year. To be considered, the student must: 1. Be
registered in one of the fifteen parishes 2. Have a minimum academic grade
average 3. Present written recommendations from
two 4. Write a 200-250 word essay (hand
written 5. Be a student of an alumnus (a) of
SDHS Readers' Digest Scholarships St. Dominic students who are top
sellers or participants in school-sponsored fund raising programs are eligible
for scholarship grants of varying amounts to be applied to next year's tuition.
Seniors may qualify for a grant for college tuition. The number and individual
grant amounts vary each year. Applications are available from SDHS Fund
Raising Director. Academic Scholarships The St. Dominic Academic Scholarship Program awards scholarships to eight incoming freshmen during their 8th grade year. Two of these recipients may qualify for a 3-year renewable grant. Dolly Reller Scholarship To honor and thank Mrs. Dolly Reller
for her 30 years of dedicated work at St. Dominic High School, her family has
established a scholarship to provide financial assistance to one or more needy
students each year. PSAS Student Aid form is required. John B. Greenwell n Memorial
Scholarship In memory of John B. Greenwell II, Class
of 1999, this fund provides a $500 scholarship to a needy student. While the Academic Scholarships are
awarded for general academic achievement, applicants who meet the minimum
requirements may request consideration for excellence in individual subject
areas: math & science, language arts, social studies, fine arts, etc. Redford Michael Perrine Memorial
Scholarship In memory of Redford Michael Perrine,
Class of 1995, a scholarship of $1000 is offered to one junior or senior St.
Dominic student, who has completed at least two to three years of art classes;
and has a grade point average between 2.0 and 3.0; and who desires to pursue a
degree in Fine Arts at the college/university or community college level. The
scholarship is given to the school of attendance. If no student applies for a
specific year the unused scholarship will rollover to the next academic year. O'Fallon Knights
of Columbus Scholarship The O'Fallon Knights of Columbus provide
scholarship funds for needy students. Recipients are chosen by the school. Tuition
Assistance Grants/Summer Work It is our mission to provide a quality Catholic
education to all those who wish to attend St. Dominic. In light of that mission, we make every
effort to keep tuition as low as possible, but we know that some families still
find the cost too high. In order to help these families, St. Dominic annually
provides about $20,000 in partial tuition grants to students who: 1. Have a financial need 2. Complete the Student Aid Form form PSAS and the
SDHS Tuition Assistance Application In addition to financial grants, there are also
several summer work positions for students who meet the three requirements
listed above. Students who are selected to work with the Maintenance Department
are paid an hourly rate, which is deducted from their tuition. To apply,
students must also complete a Summer Work Application. All requests and applications for grants and summer
work positions are confidential, and the Administrator determines individual
grant amounts. If a change in financial circumstances later allows
the family to do so, grants may be' repaid. Any donations to this fund are
sincerely appreciated. Applications are
available from the SDHS Office after March 1st. Part I of the application must be mailed to SDHS.
Part II must be mailed to PSAS. March 25th is the deadline for both parts. Late
applicants will be considered only if funds are still available. Eligibility All Saints. Assumption. O'Fallon Holy Rosary. Warrenton Immaculate Conception. Dardenne Immaculate Conception. Old Immaculate Heart of Mary . New Melle Sacred Heart. Elsberry Sacred Heart. St. Alphonsus . Millwood St. Barnabas. O'Fallon St. Patrick. Wentzville St. Theodore. Flint Hill These parishes contribute to an Archdiocesan
assessment for students attending Archdiocesan High Schools. Because of this
support from these parishes, first consideration for some scholarships is
given to families registered in these parishes. Procedures
& Deadlines The following applies to all scholarships, except
where noted in this brochure. March 1 Scholarships and grant applications are available in
the SDHS office and on Freshman Registration Night. While students may apply
for more than one scholarship or grant, a student may be awarded only one. March
