GIVING: OVERVIEW

Philanthropic support is the backbone of every Catholic school.  St. Dominic High School is blessed to have a multitude of benefactors who support the school in a variety of ways.

Since tuition only partially covers regular operating expenses, fundraising is vitally important in providing much needed supplemental revenue.  The funds raised by Cornucopia, the annual dinner auction, make a strong impact on the operational budget of the school.  Gifts from events sponsored by the Athletic Association, such as the Crusader Golf Classic, along with proceeds from the annual Trivia Night event provide funds to enhance academics, athletics, and the physical plant.  Such contributions help bridge the gap between the cost of tuition and the cost of a St. Dominic High School education, keeping tuition affordable for all students.

For a number of years, the focus of St. Dominic High School ’s development activities has been the immediate capital needs of the school.  In August of 1999 we broke ground for Phase I of Crusade for the Future.  This expansion and renovation addressed the school’s academic needs.  Phase II is currently underway, and it addresses the social, physical, spiritual, and emotional aspects of the education offered at St. Dominic High School .

Through planned giving, friends of St. Dominic High School may leave a testamentary gift to the school in their will or estate plan.
