St. Dominic High School

School History

St. Dominic opened on Tuesday, September 4, 1962, with 288 students, many of whom were students of Assumption High School, which was closed May 1962, because of inadequate facilities.

Classes were held at the old Assumption High School until the new school was ready to use in September 1963.

Since our small beginning in 1963, our enrollment has increased to 746 To accommodate that growth, a 13-classroom addition, new library, and enlarged cafeteria were completed in 2000. Plans for further expansion are outlined in the Capital Campaign section of our web.
