Fetter to Serve as St. Dominic Interim Principal

The following message was shared with our school community on Thursday, May 4:

Thank you to the many families who have extended prayers and well wishes during this time of transition in our school’s academic leadership. We have been focusing on developing the best plan to serve St. Dominic High School academically. Based on the timing of the opening, it will best serve our community to designate an interim principal for the 2018-19 school year. This will allow us to hire our next permanent principal in a more regular time frame, enabling us to attract a strong candidate pool and hire the best person to serve our school community for many years.

I am very pleased and very grateful to announce that Ms. Cathy Fetter has agreed to serve in the position of interim principal for the 2018-19 school year. A longtime educator, Cathy has spent the last 19 years of her professional career in administrative leadership at St. Dominic High School. Before her six years as president of St. Dominic, Cathy was our school’s principal for ten years. She is currently serving our community as president emeritus. Cathy is passionate about all things related to education: instruction, learning, and most importantly, the growth of our students.

We are grateful for Cathy's willingness to delay her retirement by one year to serve our community during this transition. She knows our school community well. With Cathy in this position, we will continue to move forward with our strategic plan and provide our students with an excellent education and opportunities to deepen their relationship with Christ. Cathy will be on campus full-time following the end of this academic year. Until then, she will remain on campus three days a week as she has for this school year.

Thank you again for your dedication to our students and the St. Dominic community. I look forward to continuing our journey together in providing a faith-filled education to our students.

Educating with a higher purpose,
Jim Welby
